LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Attention Seniors:  The Wayne County Community Foundation has sent out their postcard for the local scholarships that they are offering this year.  They start accepting applications on 12/15, so make sure you check out their website.  They have also put written instructions; video instructions for the Online Portal; general FAQs about their scholarship program; instructions for scholarship recipients; and other various resources.  Mr. Bratcher and Ms. Staggs will be meeting with seniors next month to discuss other local scholarship opportunities, but this is a great start!

CCP and ACT

If your child is planning on taking CCP classes next school year and has not taken the ACT (or is not signed up for the December testing session), they will want to take the February test.  If they are planning on taking the CCP Chemistry course, they will want to make sure to take the science section as well.  The writing portion of the test is not needed.  Students can register for the test at:  www.actstudent.org  by January 9th.

WALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS

Continuing the tradition- The Smithville Alumni Wall of Fame.

New members will be added to the display at the high school with pictures of graduates who have found extraordinary success in the world.  It will bring recognition to those graduates and will provide inspiration to current high school students. 

Nomination forms are available by clicking the link below or copies are available at the district office and high school office. Nomination will be accepted until December 20, 2025. 

*those nominated before but not chosen will again be considered this year with no new nomination form needed
